Safety Harbor Library Renovations & Additions/ Phased renovations and additions on active library/ 25,000 GSF

The phased 25,270 GSF project entailed a new 9300 SF addition and 15,970 SF complete renovation of the existing one-story library building while maintaining operations. The facility includes an entry portico, traditional stack shelving, 150 patron seats, public computer access room, Children’s Wing, Teen Area, and multi-purpose Community Room, staff administration offices, conference space, and staff lounge/kitchen.

Site redevelopment work including revised parking and traffic circulation, new site and pedestrian lighting, reconfiguration/expansion of stormwater management systems including underground vault storage, repair of the existing infrastructure, new landscaping, and irrigation system. Construction is concrete and masonry with stucco, structural steel roof joists, structural metal deck, tapered roof insulation, re-roof of both new and renovated space; clay tile roofing/built-up roof.

The project included new mechanical and electrical systems, fire protection, water and sewer systems, interior metal studs and drywall partitions, automatic entrance doors, room finishes, casework and various items of equipment and appliances, data and telephone system.
