Florida Atlantic University Student Union Renovations / Renovating and expanding of existing student union center / 55,000 GSF
The project entailed construction of a new 36,670 SF addition and 19,203 SF of remodeled/renovated space to house the Student Services / University Center. The facility also houses the Main Campus Dining Hall featuring a Food Court, Sports Bar & Grill, and full commercial kitchen. Phased to maintain occupancy and full operation of existing facility throughout construction.
The Center provides study lounges, locker & club storage, a branch bank, bookstore and retail space, game rooms, and Student Government Offices. Additions included 14,000 SF new space housing meeting, conference & multi-use space, 78-seat sloped-floor auditorium, recording studio, with new Ticket/Box Office to service the existing theater.
The phased construction also included new M.E.P. systems, utilities & infrastructure upgrades, site work, and asbestos abatement in renovated areas. The project was fast-tracked to meet commencement of the fall semester.
