The Elliot Museum / New multi-story steel and architectural precast museum / 48,600 GSF

The new multi-story museum houses exhibit space for art collections, interactive displays, tiered-seating theater and lecture hall, open display gallery, archival library, administration offices and an open, flexible lobby able to accommodate over 500 people for museum events. The icon design features 3-story curtain walls to showcase a fully automated 55-space robotic parking system for displaying the museum’s post-1900 antique car collection, the first robotic parking system installed in a museum. Visitors can select a vehicle and watch as a robotic lift retrieves the auto and places it on a glass-enclosed turntable for closer viewing. Space includes a library, café, gift shop and catering kitchen.
The project scope included demolition of existing museum, site development, and infrastructure installation. The parking storage system included unique climate control conditions as well as flood proofing measures.

Construction is steel and architectural precast building envelope, with concrete composite decks and roof. Located directly on the Atlantic, the facility is hardened to Category Five windloads. The Elliott is LEED Silver Certification.
