City of Tampa Water Works Park / New award-winning municipal park and restoration project

This new award-winning 5-acre river-front municipal park features an amphitheater and performance pavilion; picnic areas with shelters; playground with rope climb designed as ship’s rigging; splash pad with large, timed water bucket that empties at two minute intervals; wedding gazebo; event stage and event lawn area; restrooms; boat dock with slips; walking and bike paths; dog park; pedestrian/vehicle bridge and ancillary administration/maintenance buildings.

The scope included Brownfield site remediation, and restoration of the historic Princess “Ulele Spring” to reshape the basin, relocate storm water pipes at the spring basin, saw cut and remove portions of seawall as required, and install rip rap. Ulele Spring now boasts a mini-waterfall and two footbridges over the estuarine lagoon
