Broward County Environmental Lab Building / New lab construction LEED Silver Category 5 Resistant / 11,000 GSF

New 11,000 SF Environmental Department Lab Facility includes fume hoods, wet labs, articulating robotic arms, administration offices; conference room; and all ancillary support space. There are 37 electronically automated air-value exhaust drops coordinated to balance the intake air system.

Built to LEED and Low Impact Development guidelines, the lab features separate clean rooms for bacteria/chlorophyll, air toxins, low level metals, and VOCs, and includes wet labs and adjustable-flow, high efficiency fume hoods. The building is concrete block construction with glass curtain walls hardened to Category 5 wind loads. Constructed on an existing occupied, active campus, the scope included complete site development, underground utilities, tie-ins, lighting, parking and landscaping.

The facility is LEED Silver certified and is a National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Certified (NELAC) laboratory.
