Monroe County Plantation Key Judicial Courthouse & Detention Center / New multi-story judicial facility / 48,240 GSF – $32.8M.
This state-of-the-art 48,000 GSF facility is consolidating the existing offices on site into this new facility. The new complex will houses the 16th Judicial Circuit of Florida, State Attorney’s Office, Monroe County Clerk of Court’s Office, Sheriff’s Office and Public Works Office.
The new Detention Center will include 4 double cells and 3 single cells to house 11 bunks and 23 double bunks to be housed in the dormitory, totaling 57 bunks. Sally port, open dormitory sleeping quarters, men’s and women’s locker rooms, electronic security control and devices, Control Room, Officer’s Bunk Room, All Detention Equipment and Security Equipment.
Construction was performed adjacent to the old facility and on an active site. Scope of work includes updated utility service connections, new paving and drainage and full landscaping of site. The new buildings are hardened structures built to resist Category 5 force winds.
