St. Petersburg Sixth Judicial Circuit Court / Renovations on multi-story occupied judicial building / 10,500 GSF
The St. Petersburg Judicial Building is an existing five-story facility which serves as the Sixth Judicial Circuit Court serving Pasco and Pinellas Counties. This building houses Florida’s third largest trial courts with 55 judges hearing cases daily. Performed within a high-security, occupied facility, the project entailed converting the existing fifth floor Law Library into three new courtrooms, Judge’s Offices, and all ancillary and associated space plus partial renovation of the 4th floor. The project scope included asbestos abatement and complete demo/remodel of the fifth floor and abatement/removal of ceiling portions of the occupied fourth floor to install drain piping while maintaining full operations.
The construction schedule required careful coordination and evening construction to accommodate on-going Court Sessions throughout renovations and the removal of the fourth floor ceiling.
